One of about 25 species in the genus Passer, the House Sparrow occurs naturally in most of Europe, the Mediterranean region, and much of Asia. It is a distinctive passerine bird with blue upperparts, a long, deeply forked tail and curved, pointed wings. It is establish in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
